About the Event
Join Becky of Grounded Peace in this monthly event of connecting in with the deep and earthy medicine of the drum for healing, releasing, uplifting of spirits and connection.
During this event we use our drums to connect in with our primal flow, to release what no longer serves us, to heal and to connect us as a community on an exploration of rewilding through the drum. This event is open to those completely new to drumming, have years of experience and are perhaps open to using the voice for chanting with drums as well (you don't need to be a singer!).
Becky is a Integral Sound Healing Practitioner, Tutor and Teacher for the Sound Healing Academy International and has been a highly qualified, accomplished musician for over 20 years. Through her events, classes, workshops, educational sound healing workshops and even when teaching Samba drumming to young people in Secondary Education as her time as a Teacher of Music in Secondary Education she has helped spread the word of the healing power of the drum to a multitude of people for many years. Showing and sharing with people how they can use the healing power of rhythm and drums has been a passion of hers for some time now and she's excited to bring together a community of like-minded souls to share in the magic of the drum!
A few examples of the benefits of drumming:

- Releases Negative Feelings
- Helps Control Chronic Pain
- Forms a Sense of Connection
- Great for Mindfulness
- Encourages Personal Transformation
- Helps Connect you to your Mind, Body, Spirit and the Natural World on a Deeper Level
- Makes you Happy! :)
What you'll need:
- To be able to stand for the duration of the session (there are also stairs upto the studio) - Please let me know if you need a chair for the event as there is a limited number.
- Warm, comfortable clothing and warm socks (no shoes in the studio).
- A bottle of water.
- A frame drum if you have one but not necessary ***SEE BOOKING OPTIONS*** (if you have one make sure it's one you can hold at the back with one hand comfortably for an hour and bring your drum beater as well).
I have a limited number of frame drums available to provide at the event which you can reserve with the 'Attend (with Drum hire)' option when booking - this option is £12 plus booking fee. If you have a frame drum and beater you can bring please book the 'Attend (without Drum hire)' option which will save you £2 from the drum hire option and free up a drum for someone else to borrow. ***Please note, if you arrive without a drum and have booked the 'Attend (without Drum hire)' option' there will not be a drum available for you to borrow when you arrive so please make sure to select the correct booking option.***
***Also, please arrive between 7:15-7:30pm as we begin at 7:30pm and the door will be locked after then to maintain a restful healing space for all. The studio is in Middlemore House Above 'Special Paint Products' and next door to 'MCR Safety'. You can find the venues exact location if searching for 'Chris Om Yoga' on Google Maps as the postcode doesn't take you to the exact location. If having difficulties finding the venue before the event begins you can call the studio at 01922 452199***
Please note that this event is not advisable for people with epilepsy (specifically sound induced), pregnant (particularly 1st trimester), 14 years or younger or with severe mental health conditions.
We look forward to sharing this uplifting event with you all.
